CANAL AUTOR is made up of an independent cinema programme and other cultural formats as a distinguishing mark of the rest of the commercial offer of the pay channels currently available in the market. CANAL AUTOR captures and spreads the work of audiovisual creators through a programme planning that includes independent cinema, short films, concerts, theatre productions, special thematic series, music videoclips, etc ...

This initiative is aimed at promoting and providing a business model to the works of audiovisual creators (short films, cinema, TV-movies, documentaries) who find distribution difficulties in the traditional media channels. Above all, CANAL AUTOR will be a diffusion and promotion medium for musicians, film-makers, stage artists and authors in general as a part of SGAE's offer to authors.

All the above is reinforced by means of La Central Digital's agreements with specialized Groups for the distribution of European, Asian and American independent cinema, which allow us to create high quality offers and a distinguishing value that are not usually available in the conventional commercial channels. CANAL AUTOR tries to be an attractive offer, with a high artistic and creative value, and wishing to gain the attention from the majority of the audience thanks to difference and specialization.

As regards its structure, each CANAL AUTOR's programme grid is composed of TWO THIRDS of fiction cinema and ONE THIRD of multiple other formats. Each 24 hours grid (divided in 4 blocks of 6 hours each) contains at least 8 films and several sections of other formats such as the Making off, trailers, documentaries on the theme of the block, concerts, videoclips, mini serials, specialized reports, etc ... Each 6-hour block goes follows a certain criterion, and this time restriction prevents the spectator to "get too much" of the same theme on the same day, and so the Channel provides a robust offer about each particular theme.
